AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS / IH35 CORRIDOR
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

Countywide burn bans in effect for most of the IH35 corridor including Travis
and Hays Counties. It was dropped, on Friday (06Dec), for Williamson County.

SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) A dry and stable late fall weather pattern continues as high pressure, following our cold front late Monday night, settles over the area.

(2) By late tomorrow and Friday into the weekend, the surface high pressure area will move eastward resulting in a return south southeasterly surface wind flow. This will result in warmer temperatures along with increased humidity and cloudiness. Rain chances appear very minimal as we head into the weekend but I will include a few sprinkles for Friday into early Saturday with the best chances east of our area. A weak cold front will approach the area on Saturday but it should weaken and pull up stationary just to our north before northward as a warm front by Saturday night.

(3) Another cold front, more Pacific in nature, will move into the area on Monday with widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms but, again, best chances remain to our east and northeast. Just beyond my seven day forecast, another cold front looks to approach our area by next Wednesday.

Based partially on NWS/Weather Prediction Center guidance, my forecast,
on average, is for rainfall of less than 0.20 inch for our IH35 corridor counties over the next seven day period.

TONIGHT…. Mostly clear. Low 37 in the city to around 32 in the outlying and low lying areas. Calm wind becoming light suotherly after midnight.

THURSDAY (12Dec)…. Mostly sunny. High 67. Southerly wind increasing to 8 to 15 mph.

THURSDAY NIGHT…. Increasing clouds becoming mostly cloudy late. Low 54. South southeasterly wind 5 to 12 mph.

FRIDAY (13Dec)…. Some morning low clouds otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. A few afternoon sprinkles possible. Rainfall, where it occurs, given a 20% chance of rain at any given location, will average trace amounts. High 73. South southeasterly wind 8 to 15 mph with a few higher gusts.
